pattern for preprintedd blocks
I have small preprinted scripture blocks. I am looking for a quilti pattern to use them. The quilt is for our newly married piano player at church. I have musical prints to go with the blocks. Any help is appreciated.

Square in square blocks?
If the scripture squares are all the same size, and you have enough of the music note material, you could try a square in square design. I just completed a quilt runner in that pattern.
Dark green, white and mid tone Greens. I did 11" dg and white, with 5" mtg in centers. Center small square on large, fold large square sides over small square raw edges, sew 1/4" seam. Press "flaps" out, rotate and repeat for other edges. 4 seams, you have a really easy "window" block. Trim, lay them out, sew into rows, and sew the rows together. It looks like you cut squares and rectangles for hours! I would post a picture, but I'm still learning how my new tablet does things! |
I have seen these blocks bordered to square them up and use as the centers of stars

Is there a common size for these scripture blocks?? If they are square, most any basic block will work. There were only a few and they were very simple:

i chose a sq in a sq pattern I had used before. Thanks for all the responses.

I used a sq in a sq method that used 2 square, one larger than the other. Sewed around all 4 sides and then drew from corner to corner of the larger block and trimmed it back to make the triangles. I know the points werent a good 1/4 in this way but was a lot quicker. If anyone has a source for the pattern I would love to have it. I can't find it anywhere.Thank you.
