Pattern for romantic vintage prints?
I have a small collection of Tonya Whelan fabrics-small, romantic floral prints, that I just love. I want to make myself a lap quilt with these fabrics, but I have not found inspiration for it yet! Any suggestions? Pictures? Thank you!

I saw a simple pattern for a lovely floral fabric line called Sweet Charms by Quilt Gate, and thought it was beautiful. You can see it on the Quilt Gate website.

I think Winding Ways is one of the most romantic quilt patterns and it works really well in so many ways...scrappy, all pastels or neutrals, just two colors, all kinds of combinations. Take a look at Google Images for examples.

Perhaps a vintage pattern like Dresden plates, postage stamp quilt, or a trip around the world - maybe an irish chain block

Ghost rider-winding ways is very pretty! How did that miss my radar? Curves would be new to me, but they look doable. Will have to research the templates a bit....
Joe's mom-that us such a sweet pattern! I have bookmarked that site and will how snoop around a bit.... Otis-I have a Dresden on my to do list, so maybe this is a time to try it! Thanks so much for the kick start, ladies! |
I think a simple pinwheel would show off her fabrics just darling. If you check on pinterest you can see a Dolce quilt using her fabrics. That one is pretty.

Cottage ROmance has my vote. It is going on my short list for sure.

Mmmmm....cottage romance is gorgeous! And I love the challenge of a scalloped border-I have not done that before.
The more I look at winding ways, I think it will be better suited to different fabrics. My fabric doesn't have enough contrast to show off those curves! I have made lots of pinwheels, and I live them, esp for baby quilts, so I would like to try something new this time. Thanks everyone! :) |
