That has happened to me before. When I got it back it was all scrunched up. I was not happy and let her know it. She also wrote across it in ink.

I don't like to borrow or lend patterns. I am afraid something will happen to it while I have it. Besides that, it seems like borrowing a pattern would be the same as making a copy of it. That is just how I feel for me, I'm not criticizing anyone else for what they do. There are a lot of free patterns available that keep me busy.

My thoughts on this one are, if I want to give a pattern to someone, I will give it to them. Not to borrow but to have. I do not give hardly any away, but keep them. I would never ask someone to borrow or copy a pattern, I would ask where they bought it and get one myself. Yes have been burnt a couple of times and no more.

It maybe that someone may have a pattern I havent seen or cant get in my area and I would hope they would share with me. But That is just the way I think. Sharing some things is like sharing underpants. NO Way.
She could afford the retreat and supplies. If I can't afford it I stay home. A friend and I do ocassioally buy a pattern together, though. |
I have passed on retreats and classes if I could not afford the fees and/or supplies. If I see a quilt I'd like to make, I can usually take a photo and figure out a pattern for myself. I suppose this is why some vendors prohibit photos of their display.

I am not afraid to say NO.. I never know when I might want to look over a pattern or book, although I have lent a few books out to close friends. At most of the retreats I have gone to, you are required to have your own pattern or book. And the owner would never let you copy.

luvTooQuilt I think you are right on quilting has always been a sharing thing but I am from the old school too where we bought the weekly grit for the quilt pattern then friends would get together for piecing and or hand quilting but then that was the good old days now money and greed comes into everything quilting has so changed that a lot of the get-togethers that went with quilting has just went by the wayside I live in a small town surrounded by other small towns that use to have small quilting groups and yes we did share now the groups are gone and so are the quilting stores now it is driving 100 miles to a quilt store or order on line yes quilting is really changing use t love quilt shows the venders now even vey few of them guess it goes with changing times

I've gotten burned, so no lending for me. Whether quilting stuff, or other items. Folks don't know-or ignore the copyright laws- and I want no part of that..........
