I want to do a quilt for my brother. He loves VW's and I finally found some fabric (very little so it will have to be used as a focus fabric.) I am looking for a simple pattern that will highlight the VW fabric. I also have lots of 60's style fabrics to use along with the VW. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

warm wishes has a large block that could be a focus.

Thanks Quiltmouse, that's a good idea.

Take a look at all the fabric..get graph paper and design one..he'll love it!!

I'd love to be able to do that but my talent is in the sewing end not the designing side. I would love to be more creative but at least I can sew and I am thankful for that. That's why I love this board of creative people!

Would you consider the Dewey block? Here's the link to the (free!!) pattern from quilterscache.com: http://www.quilterscache.com/D/DeweyBlockBlock.html
Looks like a great way to showcase the special VW fabric. And, throw in some of the "groovy" others.

Wow, that's a great pattern! Thanks for sharing it. I don't think I've seen it before.

turning 20 is great too.

Thanks Julie. I have done that one for another brother and I am trying to do something different for each one (I have 5). Good idea though.

I especially like the fact that it looks more difficult than it actually is, and people will think you've fussed (but only you will know any different!! )
