Pattern suggestions for a scrappy baby quilt
Hello! I just completed my first baby quilt, can't remember how to add a picture or I would attach it. Anyway, I bought too much fabric, don't want it to go to waste but I don't want to make the same pattern. The quilt I made called for some 2" X 2" squares so I have a lot extra in different colors. The main fabric which I used to fussy cut some 5" squares has lions, monkeys, alligators and zebras on it, of which I have about a yard of it left. Any suggestions? Thanks!

burp rags or changing pads bibs?

2 inch squares could go into an Irish chain or a simple block like 9 patch. 9 patch blocks alternating with Snowball blocks would be cute.

I like the Quilts for Kids patterns you can find at http://www.quiltsforkids.org/patterns/ The four patch pattern would be a good way to use the feature fabric you have. You can adjust the size from the 2 1/2" pieces they have for the 2" squares you have.

I'm just finishing up piecing a baby quilt and in the same dilemma. Usually I used the extra fabric to piece a back....makes the back more interesting. But this fabric was pricey and I am thinking of doing a brick or strip baby quilt with the leftovers. It is the Dr. Suess line and I was fussy cutting some of the pieces. With doing a brick design with sashing, if I'm short with my bricks, I can always increase the widths of my sashings to get the size I need. Just a thought.

I think this would make the most adorable quilt and use up your scraps
