just looked up the churn dash and stars on maryquilts.com, that is neat, i think i might try that one.
i tried an 18 block sample of the cathredal window, wow, it takes lots of fabric for the background. it goes fast if you do it by machine and not by hand. i was doing a class so we had to try it both ways.

Anything Eleanor Burns is always going to go together easy. D9P and log cabins are always fun because you can turn the blocks around to get a lot of different looks from the same set of blocks. The carpenters wheels was super easy. And I am currently obsessed with OBW and stack&whack quilts - the fabric does most of the work!!My 6 year old is making a 4 patch posy, she sewed all 30 of her kalidascope squares in a day.

The more I got into quilting, the more I learned that when you look at a quilt or pattern & break it down into the blocks, the more they make sense & the easier they are.

I think the 10-minute quilt block is impressive but only has three seams. Also the Diasappearing 9 Patch is always complex looking.

The Carpenters Star is very simple, just squares and triangles. Also, for the basic shape is only 8x8 square (64 blocks). You can decide on the size of each block, 3 inch blocks will be 24 in X 24 in square, up to as large as you want. Its very simple, I did the cutting in a 1 to 2 hrs, and the sewing was actually 3 to 4 hours. A real weekend quilt!
I have a couple of websites on my post that gives instructions, and another one to help with the lay-out. It made it very simple.
