Pattern transfer to felt?

I'm not sure if this is where I should ask this. Does anyone know a good way to transfer a pattern onto felt? I want to make felt ornaments for Christmas- snowflakes on colored felt and haven't come up with any good ideas. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Could you make a template of parchment paper and pin it to your felt?

In case it doesn't I'll try to explain
put a piece of tulle over your pattern and trace with a sharpie pen. Pin the tulle pattern over your dark fabric and trace with a chalk pencil. The chalk go es through the tulle onto your fabric.

I like the tule idea. I usually am able to see and draw on the design because it isn't too detailed for this type of embroidery. I do have a tiny overhead projector (like the ones in school) You set it on the design and it projects onto the wall. I have yet to use it.

I use an art transfer paper. It comes in several colors, and it's easy to see. It works like carbon paper used to in the old days.
However, I have been using it to transfer quilting designs to felt so that I can practice fmq. I don't care if it shows, so I have never tried to wipe it off or wash it out.

here is what I mean:

you can also do what Zennia describes with regular copy paper. Just print or trace your design on the paper, and sew through it without thread in your needle. Then pounce chalk through the holes the needle leaves behind in the paper.
This also works with a pattern tracing wheel like this:
