Pattern for Walker Accessories

Recently there was a thread asking about making bags for wheelchairs. Today I found a pattern to make accessories for walkers but some of the bags look like they could work on a wheelchair. I used to push my mom's chair and keep her things in a bag hanging off the back. I had to hand it to her but it was useful. Anyway, the pattern is Kwik Sew R10844. On sale thru this Sunday May 9th for $1.99 at JoAnns

I went & found that pattern & I really like it because it gives you such a variety of bags all in one pattern. Here's a link if anyone is interested.

I've made a few freebies ones from the web for friends & they are easy to make. We have a walker but only use it in emergency situations. I'm thinking I need to make a bag for it as we are both approaching our 80's & will probably need it sooner than we realize.
Here's a handy bag for crutches also if anyone ever needs something like this. About 8 years ago a gal at church was on crutches & she had a neat bag on them. At that time I looked all over the web for some sort of pattern but never could find one. Today I looked again & found several. Hope it helps someone.

Hope it was o.k. to *piggy back* on your thread about the walker bags. :)

I had two knee surgeries last year and required a walker the first week or so. I made a walker bag with a kitchen hand towel. Folded in half lengthwise. Sewed through to form pockets to accommodate a lidded coffee cup, cell phone, water bottle, etc. Added wire type shower curtain hooks (just poke through toweling) and hook onto walker front.

Brilliant idea to use shower curtain hooks. My husband will be using a walker for about 2 months and I have to take him to our pool to use the walk in shower. It will now be easier to remove the bag and use the walker in the shower.

Thank you for the information. I have seen many patterns out there that are nice to attach to a walker. I think if you got a basic pattern you could design it to your own needs or specifications.

Thanks for the info. I bought it last time around and made if for my mom just recently. I thought it might brighten her day with the pandemic. All we can do is drop it at the door.
