One I did that I really like was from the pattern Island Chain. I used a pale batik for the background and 2-1/2" strips of assorted brights for the links. Sorry my picture of it was on my phone that took a nose dive into the portapotty and is no more. Lol!

I think she has fantastic designs that make great use of a lot of batiks. |
Check Jinny Beyer's web site, gorgeus patterns, many of them free

Made two simple pattern bed quilts with batiks and love them.

Bargellos are wonderful with batiks. I made a little baby bargello to try out the technique

Almost anything works with reasonably large pieces. The ones that come to mind are log cabin, bargello, around the world.

i love batiks, but i don't like chaotic designs.
simple is to my mind better with these fabrics. they are so pretty and so busy themselves, i want to enjoy them, not be overwhelmed. i made this one. it's a very simple variation on a rail fence. i bet with a design wall and some patience you could create an absolutely stunning version of something like this using a larger variety of fabrics. aileen |
Your quilts are just beautiful. I love your choice of colors in every one. Great!

I use batiks for most of my quilts and see them as my standard fabrics. What sort of fabric range are you trying to use here? What colours, what sort of value range, and do they vary in saturation a lot? The more colours in the mix, the harder it can be to work with, especially if they vary a lot in terms of saturation. Could you show us a photo of the fabrics together?

I have a lot of different batiks that I'd like to use in a scrappy quilt. I want a pattern that will not only showcase each fabric, but will blend together to make a beautiful quilt. Can any of you suggest a pattern that would make my Batiks "knock 'em dead"? I plan on entering it in the County Fair next summer.
