Pearl Cotton vs Yarn
My friend told me to use Pearl Cotten to tie quilts. I lasts longer. What do you use?

Perle cotton looks nicer and doesnt cause huge holes

I agree that perle cotton is a better choice. I use it and also use regular crochet thread or embroidery thread. The fact that Lutheran World Relief expresses a preference for perle cotton or crochet thread over yarn tells me that yarn doesn't wear as well on the utility quilts they distribute. The type of knot used is also critical.
Yarn is also more difficult for me to pull through the quilt layers. However, I once had a grandma tell me that her granddaughter had requested a quilt with "those fuzzy nubs" on it. Dayle |
Both.... Easier to thread and pull through layers when using pearl cotton though.

I don't tie many quilts, but much prefer perle cotton or crochet thread for the times I do.

And I don't like how yarn looks after a couple washings. |
I use either embroidery floss or pearl cotton and a small curved needle.

I tie all my quilts. I have never used yard. I have used embroidery floss. Many here use pearl cotton. This time I purchasd crochet thread. I will try that out on the quilt I am making now
