Pellon Batting

Just finished a queen sized quilt top that turned out to be larger than expected -- 104 X 97. Went off to Joann's to get the batting. I've always bought Warm and Natural, but their large bolts said width was 90. Looked at Pkg. batting for Queen and it was also too small. They did not have Warm and Natural in King sized - only the Pellon brand. Have you used Pellon? If so, what did you think?

Joann's has the king size on their website and they are having free shipping over $40 thru tomorrow. You can use your coupons online also.

I have never used the Pellon but tempted a couple of times. Interested to hear what others say!

I will be watching this as well because I bought a bag but have yet to use it

I have used this batting and it is very nice to quilt with. I buy wholesale the Hobbs batting, so that is what I mostly use. A customer brought this to me.

I have used the Pellon Legacy batting. I've tried the wool, cotton and recycled cotton and liked them all.

Thanks for replies. I usually buy Warm and Natural, but will give this one a try. I read that it is a little lighter weight than W&N, but that's fine with me. For the really large quilts, I've found W&N to be a little heavy.

I have found the Pellon to be much the same as Warm and Natural.

Yes, on two lap quilts just this summer. Made a quilt out of cotton lawn and loved the way the Pellon draped and needled. What was left over I used on a smaller lap and it was just fine. All that being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it unless you were looking for a super soft, thinner bat like I was for the cotton lawn quilt, for which it couldn't have been more perfect. I had a coupon to use at Joann's, so that's what made me decide to buy a couple of yards.

I guess I didn't even know Pellon made batting! Man... I need to get out more... LOL! I have batting by the roll that I've bought so I guess I just don't pay that much attentiion to what is out there now.
