Pellon Batting

Has anyone used Pellon batting (80/20 blend or natural cotton)? A roll is pretty inexpensive at the Wal Mart site but I'm wondering if it's worth it. I don't want to put a lot of work into something that won't hold up in the long run.

I'm a new longarmer and I'm looking for a good source for quality batting. Any ideas?

joann's.com is a good source for bolts of batting- you can use a coupon & sometimes get free shipping.

I've used the one made with recycled materials. Eco something. My daughter loves the feel of her quilt and I know my son's gets heavy use and hard laundry and he says it's doing fine.

I used Pellon batting from a package for a queen quilt. It was the natural. I liked it and my fmqer said it was fine to quilt with. She actually has since bought some herself. I got it a Joanne's during a sale.

I used the Pellon 80/20 recently and thought is was indistinguishable from the Hobbs 80/20 which many quilters on this site swear by.

I use Warm Co Soft & Bright. I used to buy it at Joann's and my HQ Avante is fine with it. It holds up really well with repeated washings since most of what I make is charity quilts. It also doesn't require dense quilting.

If you follow the manufacturers recommendations any batting should hold up just fine. The batting is tested for maximum quilting distance.

You can get a roll of warm and natural often on sale at Hancocks or with a 50% off coupon.
