Pellon Cotton Batting

Has anyone used this Pellon Cotton Batting at all? A 25 yard bolt of it is on sale for $99.00 this week at JoAnn's. I usually use Warm & Natural, but wouldn't mind using this for some of my charity quilts if the quality is good enough.

Anyone have any experience with this product good or bad?

I have not used their batting, but have always been happy with the quality of the fusible web that they make. The price you are quoting comes out to $3.96 a yard. That is a wonderful bargain.

I have been using it for a few months now, have not had any problems and it washes and dries with no problem in the quilts, I'm almost thru a second roll of it so lots of quilts.....

I've used their cotton, recycled cotton and wool batting. I like it a lot.

I also found a 9 yard bolt of Pellon cotton batting at Wal-Mart for only $38.97. It's slightly more than the JoAnn's sale price per yard, but it's at least cheap enough to give it a try.

I'm not sure it was the same Pellon cotton batting I used (mine came in a package, not on a roll). I found that it was very similar to Warm and Natural; however, it was much lintier.

I used it on a quilt last summer. I longarmed it and the batting was really nice, but as Orism99 said, very linty!

Yes, I used it several years ago on a summer weight lap quilt. Picked up a kit from Connecting Threads for a summery quilt made of cotton lawn. It was perfect for the project. Hand quilted like a dream.

One word of advice .. its not a good choice for pre-shrinking... found out the hard way... It does not appear that the fibers are as "pushed through" a scrim quite like Warm and Natural. The roll I have the scrim is very loose and in places was separating from the batting fibers. With that being said ... I am not sure how well it will hold up for a quilt that gets washed a lot.. my long term concern.. is that the cotton batting fibers will eventually be balls of waded cotton. I have not washed my quilt with this batting enough to tell yet how it fairs.

I saw that same ad and wondered about it. I've only used Warm and Natural and lately Hobbs fusible or 80/20. I thought I would maybe buy this because it seemed to be such a good bargain. Waiting to see what more people say about it.
