I live in a small Oklahoma town and we don't have a fabric shop. We have 1 quilt shop and we have Hobby Lobby fabrics and that is it. I have no idea what this is or where to get it. The closest JoANN's is 2 hours away. I am trying to do a Bow Tuck Tote. Any ideas out there are appreciated. :?

I would be happy to send you some from my bolt if you like. It's a fleece like material and one side is fusible.

I have used batting or regular fleece in my Bow Tucks and it works out just fine, especially if you're going to do some quilting on the bag. What you use depends to a degree on how stiff or floppy you want the bag. I like a bag with a bit of structure, so if I use batting or fleece I quilt it pretty well with either a medium meander or 1" grip quilting.

Hope this helps!

I made 3 bowtucks bags. I really like that design. The pattern calls for Pellon 987 and I think it's great stuff. I bought mine through fabric.com. I found that they had the best price for the size you get. 40 x 60 The packages come in a couple of sizes so double check. I think Joanns package is 20 x 40. Of course, if you can get it off the bolt, then you get exactly what you need.

But the real secret to the structure of this bag, is to put a foundation in the bottom of the bag, so it looks square. That info is in the pattern.

Good Luck

Fabric.com is a great place to order online. I love the fusible fleece.

If you quilt your fabric for the bag, you can use regular batting. I have and had no problem with it.
