Pellon wool batting

I ordered a 9 yard bold of Pellon wool batting from Walmart and it arrived today. The website says it is 96" wide, the bolt I received says it is 90" wide. Has anyone else ordered this batting from Walmart and how wide was it? I don't know if the website is wrong or if I got old stock that was a different size.

I previously ordered a bolt of the Pellon 80/20 blend and it says it is 96" wide on the bolt. I was happy I'd be able to make my queen-sized quilts a few inches wider, with a thick pillow-top mattress the quilts are a bit skimpy and the mattress shows. Now I'm not sure if I want to keep it or return it.

I would contact Walmart and ask them to make it right. You have been shorted 1944 suare inches or almost 1.5 yards.

I would expect that they will offer a discount (as they should) or perhaps send you free of charge at least 2 years of batting.

You can always piece the batting.

Pellon sells their batting in 9 yard "boards". I just checked the last wool board I got and it says 96 inches. I got this from a Pellon distributor late last year. However, when I look at JoAnn's site, most of the boards are listed at 90", but they don't have wool. I wonder if the new stock is going to come in at 90"??? Hope not!
However, you did not get what was advertised so I would return it.

I haven't bought any Pellon batting but I know that Hobbs 80/20 batting when I use to buy it by the 30 yard roll was 90" wide.

Returning it because it did not match the description is a valid reason to do so.

I agree ! I would certainly contact Walmart about the discrepancy in the description. I had this happen on an item I ordered from Amazon ,and they let me keep the item, and credited my account.

I thought I would update the resolution on this issue. Welmart customer service was clueless about whether I had received the correct item, although they offered to have me return it and get a replacement. Before I had a chance to do that, I had a chance to talk to a Pellon rep at a trade show where they had a booth. The Rep asked me to contact customer service at Pellon via their website. When I emailed them about the Walmart batting to see what I should have received, not only did they already know about my issue from the rep I talked to, they immediately offered to ship me a new bolt that WAS 96" wide (with a label to ship the other one back for free). Kudos to Pellon for their response. And by the way, They DO sell Walmart 96" wool batting, so I did get the wrong item.
