Pens for a quilt label
 

I am ready to apply a label to a finished quilt for Christmas. What kind of pen/pens do you recomend me purchase. I don't believe I have noticed them displayed in the local quilting stores.

I like the Pigma Pens...they come in a few different colors too. I personally prefer the 01 because it is finer than the 05. A fine point Sharpie works too.

Sharpie or any permanent fabric markers. Iron before washing just in case; it seems to help.

If you can't find Pigma pens go look in the scrapbook department for pens. Pens for scrapbooking are archival too.

I love gelly roll pens. they are pigment ink and come in tons of colors.

Just last week I went to a local art store because I knew I wanted to audition the pen colors. Found what I was looking for there. The LQS's don't let you audition pens and my material is such that it needed a particular color.

Just a FYI about other options available.

I use a fine point Sharpie pen.

i use the micron pigma pens- they are acid free- archival quality, permenent, do not run, bleed or fade. come in a variety of colors (i have a 16 color set)
the sharpies are ok but get the fuzzy edges- micron pigma pens do not fuzz on the edges- they stay (crisp) on fabrics.
there are a number of permenent fabric markers on the market- Nancy's Notions & Clotilde's offer a variety- so do most craft stores, like Joanne's, Michaels, Hobby lobby...
