I have a piece of yardage that was "gifted" to me (read neighbor was cleaning out her crafting area and decided to give me all the scraps she knew she'd never use). I truly wish I could post a pic, but I can't. Anyway, it's something called "Sassy Princess", a directional stripe, in BRIGHT orange, yellow, a bit of lime green in the yellow, and has little girls and green butterflies in it. The stripes are roughly 1&1/4 inches wide. I have about four yards of this garishly cute stuff.
What would you do with it? I appreciate all suggestions and ideas very much! |
Use it for backing.
|
LOL!! I was wondering if that was all it was good for!?
|
do you have/know any little girls that need tote bags? that would use it up fast and be useful for someone, too.

is this it? http://compare.ebay.com/like/1504898...=263602_304662
bibs baby quilt/backing pillowcases |
I do not know but the fabric sounds adorable..Maybe a pinwheel type of quilt?
|
Yep---that's the one!

Yep---that's the one!
Edit---sorry I hit the button twice. |
That fabric is so cute...
how about cutting 5'' squares then alternating with solid squares of the colors that are in the fabric. Would make a nice rainbow look. That would still leave plenty for the back and maybe a matching pillowcase. |
tube quilt comes to my mind. Anything with strips looks good.
|
Sounds great for a kids quilt border also.
|
Pillow cases? Pajama pants? It's adorable fabric!
|
I like to use stripes in borders :-D
|
Gift it to a neighbor ;)

Seriously, thanks for all the suggestions. I had seven yards, then made DD a nightgown, now have four left. It is cute---just sooo bright. |
I agree, pinwheels would look great

How about a market bag for the grocery store? You could make a set of 4 and gift them to your neighbor?

D9P? using other colors to tone it down?
|
How about a D9P use it for the corner blocks and rotate the ones that would be upside down when turned so everything is going the right direction (hint from the board). Then use some variagated or moted colors for the other squares, and finish it off with a boarder in that fabric.
