I live with pet hair everywhere too. Best thing for it is a Dyson vacuum cleaner. I've tried the rest and this thing is OUTSTANDING. (And you won't believe how much more hair and DIRT this thing sucks up).

Also, someone mentioned The Furminator. LOVE this thing! Can't believe it works as well as it does. I nearly combed the stripes off of Miss Kitty (see my avatar). And she loves getting groomed with it.

Otherwise, well, I got nothin'. :)

I have 3 long haired cats-2 are Maine Coons. hair everywhere and my couch holds onto it like glue. I bought the Scotch Fur Fighter. It has disposable covers that lift off the hair-kinda like the lint brushes that used to be popular. i extend the life of them by pulling off the hair and keep using them until it doesn't work right and then use a new one. It was about $10. of course i get wooly mamoths in the corners and under the furniture!

I forgot to ask- what's a Furminator?

it is an awesome brush..i am sure that anyone that sells pet supplies including walmart or target has them..i got mine years ago, off QVC when they first came out..it worked really good on my rotty..but my JRT won't let me brush him with anything.

oh darn you have to have that coupon program to be able to print this coupon...for some reason my computer doesn't like that program, it will download the program but nothing else happens...oh well thanks anyway.

Furminator looks pretty effective. I am a Dyson fan...best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, our Malamute x loves being vacuumed. A damp rubber glove or sponge is pretty good and really cheap duct tape (from dollar stores). Aside from this, you just have to put up with a bit of fur flying around. We have leather sofas and hardwood floors...don't think I could cope with fitted carpets or fabric sofas!

Can i use the furminator on my Maine coons? their coat is different than a regular longhair.s

I would just leave it. If someone comes over, just pretend that the cushion is a cat. Talk to it, stroke it....odds are they'll think one of the two of you is nuts. Well YOU know that it is NOT YOU. lol
