:-) thanks to all the good advise on my pfaff 1200 when i lst got it. thought i would let everyone know that you all steered me in the right direction. correct size needle, good thread, plenty of oil, tension just so. the one thing that i think that helped the most was no more than l finger width higher than the bed of the sewing machine, as i roll my quilt. all bars completely level. and my DH made sure the frame, and machine shelf was completely level. and as i raise the rolled quilt and raise the bars, I make sure both ends are raised exactly the same, and are level. i have a level handy. so it works like a dream. my lst queen is about half done. with the inspira frame, and phaff 1200. thanks to all you great gals for the wonderful help.

I'm always learning more here! Love the level idea - have the same setup and have never thought to use one of my hubbys levels. That would make a big difference if it was higher on one end. Post a pic of your quilt and have fun.

It's good to hear this kind of feedback on a Pfaff. I love mine. It's only a month old but my kids say I have a dreamy happy face when I sew on it. I can't say enough about Pfaff. What a great machine.

thanks, yes, it's doing fine, as long as i remember all it's quirks.
after i got my quilt turned, i was forgetting to use silicone on my good quality cone of thread. and so it was breaking. H ground a fine little burr out of the feed dog cover, i taped the speed control tight to the back of the machine,---and i think the speed increased 2 fold, when i did this.--and then i covered the needle threader with a knot of matarial. have any of you other ladies done this? anyway, it seemed to find it's grove, or i did. don't know what, but after H went to bed, i pretty much finished the quilt. I'm doing the loop over, loop below quilting. that's my old stand by design.
