Pfaff 4.2

Hi Guys,

phoned the dealer today about the Husqvarna Sapphire 930 and he suggested that before I make a decision I think about the Pfaff 4.2 - he's said you get much more machine for only £100.00 more. So, anyone out there have one? Does it do an accurate 1/4" seam? How does it do at free motion? Any help or advice really appreciated.

Many thanks

Caroline

This is the one comment I forgot to add in the last thread where I was talking about the Sapphire 930. If I hadn't bought it on a whim like that, I would have bought a Pfaff for the IDT. If it's only £100.00 more, I would totally go with the Pfaff.

The lady beside me at a retreat 2 years ago, had a 4.2 and raved about it--enough to make me seriously look at one. Then I went to a Creative Needlework show and Pfaff had the 4.2 and the 5.0 on sale. Well...the price of the 5.0 was fantastic and I really liked what I saw and felt as I test drove it. Yep ended up with the 5.0 and have not regretted my decision. But the 4.2 would have been the winner if the 5.0 had not been there.

Oh and the IDT is great!! I sure miss it when I switch to my Janome (yes I have them both set up. Sometimes it is easier to just go to the other machine than switch thread colours)

You won't go wrong on the Pfaff. I have had a Pfaff for over 20 years and love them. I am a seamstress at a bridal shop and the Pfaff wit duel feed is the best by far of any machine we have ever had. I also own 2 of them for my personal use. They are worth ever penny.

You have to go test drive it just like a car. Good luck in making the right decision. I bought my Bernina almost 20 years ago and she is still my favorite of two Berninas.
