Pfaff 7570 problems...can you help?

I have had problems before with this machine and I think it's the foot pedal. The machine turns on fine with the proper screen and has new batteries. When the foot pedal is pressed it makes a "click" sound which I think is new. I am wondering if there is a way to make the machine run by pushing a sequence of buttons? I'm not sure I want to put a lot of money into it...our local repair shop charges about $180 to service and look at the machine. Do you think a new pedal will fix it? Thanks for, your advice

WOW, that is sort of expensive. I usually pay around $75 for servicing my Bernina. Any sewing friends nearby where you could get a referral of someone else to check out your Pfaff?

There are some Yahoo groups for this machine. Someone on these groups may be able to help:

You need to join the groups in order to post a question.

Sounds expensive. I have a 2056 and it's $79 for service and extra if a part needs replacing.

If you know someone else that has this machine, maybe you could borrow their foot pedal to see if that is the problem. I have this machine and had it serviced by a Janome dealer for around $70. I think any machine tech could help you out.

You can probably also use a pedal from a 1475 and a 2144. I've had both, and the pedals are the same. Most of the 2040 series should fit, too.
