Pfaff Hobbymatic 919-1 & Pfaff Tipmatic 6122
 

I have an opportunity to pu chase both these machines for $75 each. They look clean and include cases and manuals plus pedals. Not sure about accessories and I haven't tried them. I've never had a Pfaff but understand theyre great machines. I can find little information about these models and wonder if they're both basic machines, no IDK, and maybe redundant. Any advice or information would be much appreciated. I have my mother's old Singer and love its steady rhythm but not the buttonholer. Also, if I purchased just one, which is th better choice. It sounds like they were built in Germany in the 80's. I guess that's vintage, like me. Lol.

I have an older Hobbymatic than that, and it is my daily machine. Never any problems from it. I recently decided that I could use a machine with a needle threader, so bought another Pfaff, but still use the Hobbymatic because it's simple. Sorry, I don't know anything about a Tipmatic.

I've serviced a few Tipmatics. I'd stay away from that one. The Pfaff Hobbymatic isn't as bad. But I don't think you have control of the stitch width. The stitches are all pre-set.

For that price I would grab and run before they change their minds and then you could sell them to me for same price. haha!
