I've been trying to 'clean' my 2027 before I move it to another spot (making room for my new Creative Vision 5.5) and there is a location that I can get a peak into that has quite a bit of lint. I can see it but I can't get to it. It is the 'cavity' above where the light bulb is and the needle housing is. It kinda looks like the end cap will pop off, but I'm afraid to try it. Any one out there know how to get the lint out of this area?

Basically on my Pfaff I use the canned air to get to places I can't reach. Alot of the ladies I sew with use the fuzzy pipe cleaners and reach into spots like that also.

Pipe cleaners are an excellent idea...
My machine mechanic said only to use canned air if I want to be paying him more money to fix my machine more often LOL

I like the idea of the fuzzy pipe cleaners. Some repairmen tell us not to used canned air because it takes their job. I was watching a repairman (Bernia trained) clean a machine use canned air. He did not see me or my friend watching him.
Then he tells his customers NOT to use the air.
"Wait a minute practice what you preach Mr.Repairman."

LOL -- my DH just took my Pfaff apart and cleaned it! (bless him - saved me $90.00 and 3 week wait to get it back from the repairman!!!) He took it apart in places I'd NEVER dare take apart. Took it outside and used his air compressor to blow it out (the one that fills the tires on the car!!! I'ts gone TONS of power). The machine runs like a gem now!!!!! I like the pipe cleaner idea, too. I'll get some today and keep them on hand when I don't want him spending an hour on my machine!

I have always hear that using canned air just forces the lint into more places. I love the pipe cleaner idea. I'm going to try that one.
