I have an opportunity to buy a used Pfaff well-maintained sewing/embroidery machine for a very reasonable price. Of course, nothing will replace my Featherweight. I have come to rely heavily on this message board and wondering if any of you will be willing to share your pros and cons regarding Pfaff machines. Thank you.

I have a Pfaff 2030 that has been a real workhorse for the last 10 years. In that 10 years I only had it cleaned once. Once you get used to the built in walking foot the add on ones are so clunky and slow you'll never want to use any other machine!

Do a search using the search feature above for the machine you're looking to buy. See if there have been threads about it.

Aren't you lucky!!! :D:D:D
One of the main regrets that I have with my emb machine is the small hoops and not being able to upgrade to larger ones. Many of the smaller designs now are for a 5" X 7" hoop... which is bigger than my largest hoop. Have you looked at some of the design sites to see which ones appeal to you the most? Can you purchase hoops/or does this machine have the ones needed for these? Does this machine come with a card reader? Or does it hook up to your computer? |
Thanks. This one is a 2124. I know the owner and believe me when I say she treated with the same affection as I treat my featherweight.

It is a "fully loaded" machine with card reader and all. The owner upgraded. She is including everything. I have seen her emb work all done on the Pfaff and it is incredible. Have never embroidered but this quilting journey I am on is making me want to try everything.

I think it would be a great opportunity! |
I have a PFAFF Stretch and Jeans 6120. I bought it 2nd hand many years ago. I am now using PFAFF Grand Quilter- hobby 1200. This is for straight stitch only. I am learning FMQ on it. I love them both.
