I can’t take credit for the color combo though since I used fabrics from a single collection, except for the backing. The fabric was from the “By the Sea” collection from Marcus Fabrics. Helen Weinman is the designer. She has a shop on Cape Cod so we had a nice day visiting the Cape and shopping. Regarding the pattern: no, I didn’t have a pattern. I searched for ages for a pattern that would let me use the fussy cut motifs and saw lots of ideas. I ended up making this in EQ6. I have the details in an Excel file. At long last, it's finished. I want to thank everybody who offered suggestions to my many requests for help - from cutting on the bias (I did) to the quilting pattern (all over meander) and whatever else I may have asked. I have enjoyed making this - it's for my husband's elderly aunt and cousin. The label includes my DH's name since he helped every step of the way except for the sewing.
As for the last picture: As I went to return the quilt to its protective bag to keep cat hair off of it, I said to DH, "I hope there's not a cat in the bag!" Oh well... |
