IF there are no inset seams, I start left to right, bottom to top. That way, I can press the seams on each row in the opposite direction of the previous row which makes sewing the rows together much easier. I like to nest and pin the seams for a perfect (or near perfect) match.

One thing I do now (after having sewn the wrong side of two pieces together, is to open my seamed pieces and compare them to the picture. Avoids picking a lot.

I have all the 25 pieces of a 12" block laying out, ready to sew. 5 rows of 5 pieces. I sit there & look at it and ask myself, 'self, where do I start?'. :lol: Do you know what I mean?

How do you start? Left to right, right to left??

I just bought a book this weekend-501 Rotary Cut Quilt Blocks by Judy Hopkins at my LQS and I love it! It has pictures and step by step instructions for both cutting and which order to sew the pieces together.
