I haven't made any of the french seam pillow cases yet. But is this the only pillow cases that everyone makes? My friend who passed on last year made me some a couple years ago. They weren't the french ones. I will have to post a picture later. Hers has a wide trim or what ever you call it on the end with some lace. Anyway just wondering what you make? I want to get started for this years gifts already.

I make them with or without the french seam. You can do them any way you like. I just measured a store bought one for the size.

I have the fabric to make some for us this time, and I don't plan to make the french seam on these.

i've done the french and the other. i really like the 'neatness' of the french seam cases. when i make the others, i zig-zag the seams to keep the fraying under control.

i have instructions for both if you need them. let me know

Do you make yours just like the stores or do you do yours different?

I have this pattern in the magazine. I love it and it is very easy to make and no seams show. I made these for all the Ladies in My mothers Hospital room who were all having open heart surgery and I used heart fabric there were a big hit and everyone wanted the pattern.

Yes quilterj, I make mine like the store bought. I just measure it and add the seam allowance. Be sure to measure for the fold of the hem too.

I generally put a 4" hem on mine which I cut 8-1/2" to allow for the fold and seam allowance.
