How much fabric does it take to make 2 cases with 1 or 2 contrasting fabrics?

oatw13 11-20-2010 07:20 AM

For each one you need:

9.5" X Width of Fabric (about 42 inches) - for the "cuff"

2.5" X width of fabric - if you want a small contrasting band

27" X width of fabric - for the body

*****************************

For 2 pillowcases, you would need:

19" X WOF - for the "cuff"

5" X WOF - if you want a small contrasting band

54" X WOF - for the body

Remember, a yard is 36". Also, remember if you are purchasing fabric, allow a couple extra inches for straightening the fabric if it isn't cut straight.

Hope this helps.

They are so fast and easy.I do the french seams.I've been cutting mine 28" for main, 9" for band and sometimes i use gathered lace to put in the seam between the main fabric and the outer band.I've made acouple pairs of flannel cases, boy nice and warm.

I agree - they are easy. I usually make one as wrapping paper when giving a quilt as a gift.
