Pineapple Block ruler
1 Attachment(s)
I bought the Creative Grids Pineapple trim tool and love it! It made it so easy to make these pineapple blocks!
I'm thinking of changing the fabric of the corner triangles on the bottom right block. Just doesn't look quite right. I'm using skinny strips and a jelly roll entirely for these blocks. Don't know what I'm going to make with them or how many blocks I'm going to make. Any suggestions? |
Very pretty start...right now those corners look strange but if you add more blocks with those same corners, it will look ok.
|
So pretty! I bought the ruler as well but haven't used it yet. I love your blocks!!!
|
Lovely. I agree with Homespun - make more blocks and see how they mesh before changing the one.
|
I love this ruler as well.
One thing you could do is to use four different colors on each last corner - the light blue on one, the red on another, dark blue on the third, and something else (did I see a dark green?) on the last. Then when you join the blocks, put the same colors together to make a square of that color. |
Very pretty blocks. Use whatever colors you like. If you aren't happy with them it will bug you.

It’s looking great so far...I don’t think I’d make any changes yet. Can’t wait to see as you complete more blocks. I don’t have the pineapple ruler but I love a few of the Creative Grid rulers I have purchased.

Looking Good!!! If nothing else put the one you're not fond of in the middle of the quilt. Make it think you meant to do it that way.

I have always loved the look of pineapple quilts, but never had the desire to try one. I got the ruler, and now have 7 blocks made and several more almost done. I'm using solids brights in the skinny strips and a jelly roll of the same for the corners. I'm using white on the alternating rows. I have quite a few Creative Grids rulers, finding that they make life so much easier when you are up to a challenge. And I think I will use them more than once. They are something I feel is well worth the money.
As far as your blocks, they look great the way they are, do what you want. Mix them up in a quilt and the not so good ones will look as good as the ones you love. |
They look great.

Beautiful blocks! I have the larger one still in the package and I got another one along with the smaller one for my birthday. It's time to make one!
|
And now I want one of these rulers.
|
I bought the Missouri Star Pineapple ruler....but have yet to use it. But I'm cutting up strings from my scraps this month so maybe next month I'll be able to start on one.

I did change the corners of the bottom right block because I discovered I didn't have any more strips that color and I figured it would look out of place If it were the only one. it only took 5 minutes. Here's a picture of the same blocks in the same order after making the change.

Oooh, I like it!! Looking good, Janjanq!!

Janjanq, Your blocks are lovely.
I made 3 blocks for a Christmas table runner. It is an awesome ruler. |
Love the Blocks. I suspect that when you layout more blocks, it will all blend nicely. I put that Creative Grids ruler on my Amazon wish list after a friend bought it and gave a demo at one of my sewing groups. It's terrific.

I love these blocks. They look so perfect!
