I have a book on the folded technique from my small group hostess -- I really should give that back to her but there is a project I'm still considering. I can see where I could use and even enjoy this technique.

Periodically I try to paper piece, I have friends who do it wonderfully and who show me their tricks, but I just haven't quite gotten it yet -- I keep waiting for an aha! moment when it will all make sense. I have a project I really want to make that needs a few paper pieced blocks. I actually want to make them but I keep putting it off. Those patterns are representational animals and I don't see any way to do except as traditional paper piecing (or worse yet for the scale I want, traditional piecing).

I think though, a few blocks doing the fold method might warm me up.

Wow Peg, I love paper piecing so much but hate ripping out those papers. This makes great sense. There really is no reason to sew on the paper. I don't know why I never thought of this. By glueing do you have to use a new paper for each block, or can you reuse. I just saw a you tube video of using freezer paper to do this, by sewing the lines without thread on the freezer paper. I think seeing the lines would be easier in my opinion.

Thank you everyone for showing all the beautiful pineapple quilts. I did get the creative grid ruler and learned a great technique for paper piecing without ripping the papers from Peg. This is great to converse with fellow quilters and then learn multiple ways of accomplishing quilting project. Your sure all my good pals.

I reuse mine until they fall apart. Saves on paper this way, too. :thumbup:
