Pink Log Cabin - need suggestions for borders
2 Attachment(s)
The log cabin blocks here have been a true challenge with narrow widths of fabric, and diagonal stripes but I've come this far with a sigh of relief! It's coming together nicely.
I will use the gilded stripe as a wide mitered border, but just wondering if I should use an inner border before the stripe? Give a clear break between the edge triangles and the border? What do you think? |
That is gorgeous! I like the border in the second photo of just the gilded strip, especially where it meets the triangles of the same fabric. I think an inner border would take away from that effect.
|
I agree with Rebecca, I like the border right next to the triangles, you don't need a separating border. Beautiful quilt!!!!!
|
I agree, I like the border. Also the "quilt police" seem to enjoy it too.
|
I also like it the way you've shown it in the second pic. Looks great where it meets the same fabric in the half squares!
BTW, I haven't seen this log cabin variation. What's it called? |
I agree, no other inner border needed. You have a very striking, dramatic design youth just the gilded stripe border. Beautiful!
|
That is so beautiful! I, too, vote against an inner border--the stripe alone is perfect.

i love the look in the second picture

It is so unusual for us all to agree, I think you better go with the border as pictured.
