I got my package of Pinmoors today.
LOVE THEM!! I just might never use safety pins again. Too bad they are a little expensive. I think I'll supplement them with ear plugs or cut up a white eraser like someone mentioned. But whoever posted about these originally, Thanks! |
let us know if you like them, I just googled and found the video on them

That is cool. I like the concept. Watching for feedback on this.

I don't know who was the original poster of this topic, but, I just ordered some the day before yesterday
|
I just spoke to my DDs about what I want for my birthday and Xmas. Guess what I asked for? :D
1. framed photos of them and the kids 2. gift cards (as usual) 3. autobiographies (as usual) 4. Pinmoors (new!) Although not necessarily in that order. :D :D I can't get over what a simple concept these are, and I'm kicking myself for why didn't I think of them? I hope the lady who invented them is very successful with them. I think I'm so excited because I can use these even with my achy, not quite numb fingers. |
Just watched the u tube demo. - amazing ~ quick and easy removal.

I brought some earplugs home from work to try. Pinned my layers last night. Going to do some quilting on it tonight and see how they work. They did seem to stay on pretty well. If they aren't staying on, I will try Pinmoors. Love the idea!

I kind of think they won't stay on as well, but we'll see. |
Wow, what a great idea. I really dislike using safety pins so I am really liking this.
Just checked out the website and they are a little pricey. I'll have to think about it. |
I have them, I ordered them as soon as they were available to buy. While waiting for them, I used everything a pin would stick into but after using the Pinmoors I tossed the other things. It is one of the few quilting tools I have not bought on sale. I now have enough to pin baste a king size quilt. I had to quit taking them to quilt workshops, everyone wanted to borrow just a few and I never got them back. :?

I have four packages now, that's plenty for me. I machine quilt mostly in the ditch or 1/4" straight line echo or crosshatching.
|
I tried the ear plugs on 6 pins. They stayed on okay, but didn't like how the quilt didn't lay flat in the areas I used them. Safety pinned areas remain flat. I don't think I'd order Pinmoors unless had a chance to try first.

I see slight bunching up using the pinmoors too but not enough to bother me. |
Nadine, can they be cut in half? they look longer than you need..your not sticking the pin in that far , are you?

Arent' you clever!!! The size they are now makes them easy to hold, but you're right, the pin doesn't get pushed in very far. thanks, I'll try it. |
I will have to follow this topic. I'm interested in them, but they seem a little expensive.
|
I bought a bag after reading a post on here and I love them! They are working great and I just pin a large section and move them to the next section as I can.
|
I just cut a couple in half and they work just as well!
I think I'll only cut a few and see how well they stay on while I'm moving the quilt around, etc. But it's a great idea...thanks again |

Miniature marshmallows - hmm - buy a bag of them and let them sit out for a while 'til they are good and stale, then use them instead of the pinmoors??

Clotilde, has them in the new catalog.
|
I'll stick with my basting spray...
|
Would kids craft foam work the same? Its not "squooshy."
|
How about packing peanuts? Maybe they would need to be cut in half too.
|
Iclang,thats a good idea.
|
I have them and they are great. They lay flat and I suppose they could be cut in half and work just as well. I think popcorn would be a bit bulky and crumble eventually.
