My DH ordered me 100 pinmoors today! They are on sale everyone. DH says orange and white 12 dollars for 50 and 23 dollars for 100.

What are pinmoors?

EagarBeez 03-14-2011 04:07 PM

Pinmoors are a small firm foam cylinder that in combination with a headed straight pin, replaces safety pins.

They are real easy to use, you never have the problem with a safety pin catching on the material, and the bright colors make it real easy to find so you never end up with a missed pin when you pull them out after quilting.

I really like these - work very well - much better than safety pins.

These look like they would be really handy for hand quilting along with machine quilting, easier to remove and pin a quilt wit.

FYI for those on a tight buget,

I use ear plugs, I bought a huge plastic container of 100 for a couple bucks and used them just like these.

Someone had a post on here recently about using pencil erasers from the dollar store. You can buy a whole bag for $1. They are the kind that fit over the end of a pencil after your eraser is used up. Just trim off the end that fits over the pencil and you have a triangular eraser left. I bought two bags.

I've got Pinmoors in three colors. I really like them and they work quite well. My worry about erasers is that there will be eraser scraps left behind.

I bought these recently too and love them! I use them a lot for regular sewing and use really sharp pins, it's so nice to NOT get stuck by pins as I work the fabric through the machine!
