The "Pintastic" gadget
 

I went back and read the posts about the Pintastic gadget.

Ever since Tuesday Morning opened up near me about 1 year ago
(and maybe add a couple months to that year). I have seen the
pintastic there selling for $19.99 I had no intentions of buying one
of these contraptions.

Than yesterday I stopped by there to kill a little time (I do this
when ever I place a take out order). First thing I did was stop
to look at the "clearance" table.
Not much on the table I was interested in. Then I saw it. The
last remaining pintastic marked with a yellow sticker.

The yellow sticker indicated that the item was 80% off, bringing
down the price to $3.99.

I bought it just for kicks and to see what the "hype" was aall about
with this thing.

GLAD I never bought it before though it doesn't work worth a darn
on the flat flower head pins that I so dearly love using.

I gave one to a seamstress friend. She loves it. She uses the dressmaker Iris pins. She has pins everywhere. She bought three more to have them at her reach. It doesn't work that great with pins used for quilting.

For $4, I would get one and use it for my glass head pins.

I try to stay away from anything that needs batteries because I never have the right size when it dies...

looks like a space hog to me...

I have pin cushions where ever I work -- would need multiples of this item. Some things are done better the old fashioned way!

I bought a magnetic pin holder on clearance at WalMart for $5. It has a lid that keeps the pins from coming off in my bag and a storage compartment. The lid is turned upside-down and serves as a holder. I just have to get the pin in the general direction of the holder and the magnetic grabs it. The best $5 I ever spent. Bought a couple for sewing buddies.

This thing looks like it would be more of a pain than anything. I use shallow Rubbermaid bowls with snap on lids. They never need batteries - take up very little space - and I can throw them in a bag without them spilling. I also keep the magnets off of old speakers. They come in handy all over the house and garage.

Between Elmer's and clover clips, I hardly ever use pins anymore! I keep my pins on magnetic pincushions, and when I'm using them I have a magnetic pincushion that velcroes onto my wrist. That works well for me for when I AM using pins.

I love all things gagetty but that thing is so big! I'll stick to my pin cushions and magnet picker-upper.

I agree with ALL the comments about it being big, bulk, and a space
hog.

If it wasn't $4 I would never have bought it. Who knows maybe someday
I MIGHT think about using it but I doubt it.

The small straight pins with tiny heads work perfectly in one. If you have ever made one of the folded ball ornaments then this little machine will be worth it's weigh by having one pin ready to take each time. :)

Just because someone made it, does not mean I need it....I will just stick to my faithful wool pincushion.

You got a bargain as they are $60 RRP. Would not pay that much for one lol

I have 4 machines I keep set up for use one is a computerized machine, I have 4 regular cushions and 1 magnetic holder, I move the cushions around all the time BUT make sure I keep the magnetic one away from computerize machine. I love all my pin cushions, one I have has for 25 yrs it looks like a hat, I love it more than the tomato shaped ones (2 of mine are tomatoes).

A magnet in a pincushion won't hurt your machine. All machines except the very old ones, have a shield protecting the computer electronics.

Price was right..
