Place to sell patterns and notions

Any one know of links or Facebook pages where you can go to sell patterns you no longer want, or notions?

I know I can go on Craig's list or Ebay, but was thinking there might be a place for like minded quilters.

Thanks!!!

You can also list them for sale on this board in another forum section.

YES, please! Be sure you read the rules before attempting to list in QB classifieds -- some categories don't count toward the minimum required posts, nor do PM's. Group your notions. Think about ease of shipping, and check what will fit in which sized box. I sold a couple of patterns last year, and postage was about $1.40 for one pattern in a medium manilla envelope.

Yahoo has a great group called Sew It's For Sale. I see quite a few from this site advertising there. Most of their prices are reasonable, and lots of great bargains. You can sell notions, kits, patterns, fabrics, etc. There is also one called QuiltersFleaMarket on Yahoo, but they don't have the following Sewitsforsale has.

I use etsy for craft supplies. I'd rather sell for the amount I want to sell at rather than someone else's idea of a "fair price".

I'm with you on that! :hunf:

I am looking for patterns so that I can make up some of my stash into kits, that I can sew when I have just a few min or an hour rather than take the time to do all the grafting etc. for a quilt. Sent you a pm. Thanks, Amy

Why are the prices decided by others? I'm confused? They, whomever they are don't own the items....nor did they purchase the items......

Please explain....

I'm curious too. Not sure what is being referred to. Ebay?

Here is another site where you can sell, buy, post- https://www.myqfe.com/ No hassle, no special requirements.

I would like to know to

gingerd 04-07-2016 08:38 AM

Apparently here on this site if you want to sell your items someone, I don't know who sets the price.

I'm just baffled as to why someone would want to tell someone how much to charge for things they didn't purchase nor own. Different areas of the country charge differently for items whether they be quilting items or not.

I'm just confused why someone needs that control over others.

omaluvs2quilt 04-07-2016 09:06 AM

I just signed up for this group!

I'm not having any luck with this link, but would like to check it out. Is it incorrect?

Same here.

I have had good luck selling on SewItsForSale through the Yahoo Group.

No, etsy. www.etsy.com. It's like ebay for crafting. If you look at the rules for selling here on this board, they have guidelines for how you are allowed to price your items.

ccthomas 04-07-2016 04:19 PM

I must be doing something wrong but I haven't even seen anyone selling on the Items for Sale on QB. I have checked my settings.

Huh, I did not know that. Thanks for clarifying.

"Sew It's for Sale" is on Facebook and is a good site to sell items. You might like it --I do. Good luck

There is no confusion here. I have sold here before with no problem. Rules are clearly posted. Management does NOT want this site to be turned in a retail selling location. She prefers it to be more like a garage sale. That is what eBay is to me, I don't pay full retail price on most of the items I purchase there. Please note, I am not making any offensive overtures with my comments.

I've not been to the site lately, but it was then a working link. I wonder...it must have been taken down. There was not a lot of activity, so must be the reason.
