I use "Warm & White" from Joann's - 100% cotton but not too thick.

I bought felt off the bolt and used for table runner and placemats. So far..so good. No problems.

I use a piece of flannel in my placemats as well. IMHO, it gives it just the right amount of thickness.

45" wide Pellon fleece. It comes fusible and non fusible both. It's on a large roll with the interfacing, not quilt batts in most stores.

I made a bunch of table toppers for my church fellowship room and used polyester material someone had given me. Keeps them flat and in place!

I use leftover batting and it is usually Dream Cotton. It's thin and lays nice and flat.
