I've been working on a lapquilt for dd. It was made from a jelly roll and was the most boring top I've done so far. Those long straight seams about did me in! I haven't done much fmq.....just playing around and a few small things. If I said i was good a big old bolt of lightning would strike me as I type. But I was determined to fmq this one. It has taken months....really. DD has given up on it. BUT I'm finally getting the hang of it! It hasn't helped that I've broken thread, broken needles, messed up my tension, retrofitted my fmq foot, and a slew of other "mishaps". But I have one more small section and it is ready for binding! Its not pretty...but you can see an improvement in my quilting as I go along. DD doesn't care how it looks either...she just wants it! I'll post a pic in a day or so when I finish!

When it rains, it pours. . . . . .

Glad to hear that you persevered and I look forward to seeing it :D:D:D

Congratulations, Ginny, on your perseverance! My personal motto is: "Better done, than perfect." Of course, with my quilting, perfection is never an issue.

We are our own worst critics. It is made with love and that what counts :D

It's so hard to finish those quilts we term "boring". Your DD will be glad you stuck with it.

Ginnie, you are so funny!! Loved the post :D
