I have looked at hobby lobby, hancocks, joannes, LQS, the singer store and no one seems to have a clue of what i'm talking about. |
I have them and they work great in the front loading bobbins. I haven't noticed a difference in the top loading bobbins. They do last forever. If you want some, maybe you could split the bag with someone? The price is high for what you get, but they last forever, so worth it to me.
You can order them online here: http://www.keepsakequilting.com/productdetail/8248.htm or ebay or several other online quilt stores. They are about $10 a package. |

I didn't know they had anything to do with quilting. They sold them to me to help with bobbins vibrating and making noise..

They are silicone, not plastic. It keeps the static from building up in the bobbin so there is no bird nesting of fabric when you start to sew that static can cause. A drop of sewer's aid in the bobbin housing will work too. Sewer's Aid is pure silicone.

I tried them in my Viking (top loading bobbin) and didn't notice a difference. Actually, I think it works better without them. You can find them in many online quilt shops.

I use them in my front loading Bernina and they work well - they do help with "birds nests"
|
I use them in my Pfaff sewing machine and Gammill quilting machine. Love them. I purchased them from Keepsake Quilting.

thank you so much- all these posts are helpful

I bought them to try to stop the bobbin in my HUS/VIK from spinning faster than it needed to at times. I think it helped as it isn't something I pay attention to I only notice when there is a problem and I have been sewing pretty free of bobbin problems since I put one in. I'm glad I have them.

I have them in all my vertical bobbin machines - vintage Singers and Kenmores. The difference they made in the appearance of the backs of my quilts was incredible.
I got them from daystyledesigns - Leah Day's site. |
Thank you
