Please help identify this blocks name

Can anyone here help me identify this specific blocks name? It kind of looks like arrows to me. I've looked online and cannot seem to locate anything specific that looks like this. It could be applique but I'm hoping if it is indeed "a quilt block by name" there will be a pattern for it somewhere. Thanks in advance for helping!:)

I looked in Brackman but did not see it, although it is very similar to Nancy Cabot's Red and White Cross.

looks fairly easy to replicate. two HST of red and yellow and then one red square and one yellow square, make four four patches and then sash and surround with the yellow. try drawing it out on graph paper.

I could not find the name of the block, either, but this is how I drafted it in EQ. the squares are 4" and the sashing is 1", so the finished block is 11"x11"

Looks like a simplified version of patchwork tulips. https://www.thespruce.com/patchwork-...attern-2821228

Here is a link to a block that is very similar and already made into a pattern. Just eliminate all of the blocks you don't need to make it simple.

This block with the corner stone in the middle is called Nordic star it does have a couple other names too. Here is a tutorial that shows the block with the center corner stone as another color but you can do all background too

QuiltnNan.... Should I make the squares for the triangles 4-1/2 and then cut them in half?

Reminds me of Weathervane block.

Quiltnnan was referring to each of the red and white corner units as 4". They are made up of two 2 1/2" squares ( finishes at 2") and two HST. To make two HST, cut squares (one red and one white) 1" larger than your finished size, which is 2". Draw a light diagonal line from corner to corner on the white square, put the red and white squares together, right sides facing. Now stitch 1/4" away from the drawn line on each side, cut on the drawn line, and press to the dark side. Since the HSTs are oversized, rotary cut to 2 1/2", with the drawn line on the 45 degree diagonal line of your ruler. Perfect every time. Welcome to the board. You will learn a lot here.

i make two at a time... the size for that is 4 7/8, but i cut them at 5", leaving square up/trimming room.
