It does not say how much weight it will hold so....probably not much...A LITTLE PRICEY

sullivan uses mdf so it's heavy but not always sturdy. also, there's a tendency for the paperwoodgrain to curl at the edges. but if you know you're going to have it for a fairly short time, and the price is low enough, why not?

years ago I bought a cutting table/ storage unit from walmart for 99.00. I think it was by Sullivan, both sides fold down and it has drawers and storage in the center and I love it but it's not like this one. However I have one like this that I got when I cleaned out my mother's sewing storage. She bought it at a garage sale and as far as I know she never used it and I will probably get rid of it eventually

I have the one from Joanns as well. I find it sturdy enough to use as a cutting table. I haven't found it to be flimsy and it has served me well. However I am only using one side of it, and it is up against a wall, but it fits the 24 X 36 cutting board perfect and I have room at the back to put a ruler stand and light so I can see. $229 is really too pricey for this item though. I paid under $100 for the one at Joann's and got a cutting mat for it cheap that fits perfectly if I was using the whole table. Now I just lay it on the floor and trim up quilts on it.

NO. don't buy it. I f you will go to garage sales and good will and 2nd hand shops you can find a good wooden dining table that will last a life time and you can buy wooden night stands and put under it with drawers for less than half of that cost. My DH bought me a fold out dining table(solid wood) for $30.00 and then we found matching night stands with drawers for $5.00 each and put under the table. My table holds exactly 2 yards and 4 inches of fabric at one time. If the table is too high you can cut the legs off or too short add legs the size you want . Home depot and lowes have table legs all sizes. and they are all wood, real wood and very stable.

Right now, I am sewing in my bedroom in a tiny space. I do use my dining room table for sandwiching quilts, pinning borders and quilting the quilts. I agree it is sturdy.

Now that I have a cat, I can no longer leave anything unattended..especially with pins involved.

My goal is moving into a guest/sewing room and being able to leave my quilts out. When I have company, I will have to allow space for the lazy boy sleeper sofa to fold out in to a bed. Unfortunately, I won't have room to leave a dining room table up. Thanks for your tips.

Love the ikea table. Which I had known it before I bought the one from Hancock Fabrics. Much sturdier I am sure and it folds up for a small space. And it has drawers.And its about the same price I paid for my table.
I cannot make one myself and have no one to do it for me and paying someone to do it would make it very expensive. So this one would be wonderful. And it could be put on wheels easily.

I have one similar to that one. It would be exactly the same but for the fact that my shelves have sides to them. However, I bought it in JoAnn's, and with a half price coupon, I paid $70 for it, which means full price it was $140.00.
$229 is way too much money for this table. Shop around.

I chose this table and love it! I added wheels to the legs so I can move it around the sewing room. It is very sturdy and made of a lovely birchwood. It also comes in white. I use it with my large rotary mat as a cutting table. I also roll it to my sewing cabinet to support my quilt when free-motion quilting. There are 3 sliding drawers on both sides to store essentials. Adding wheels to the table gave the table more height. I am 5'4" so this table works perfectly for me. Thanks to all who gave me your advice. Happy Quilting to all!

the reviews for this table on amazon are good and I have never seen the adjustable one at my joanns

I have one of these I bought at Joann's years ago......had a 50% off and paid less than $100 for it. Has been used and still going. Good luck

I have enjoyed using this table in my sewing room. The photo doesn't show the wheels that I added with castors (from harbor freight) to increase the height and make the table mobile. I roll it to my sewing cabinet to support quilts. I also use it as a cutting table using my large rotary mat. This is a great table for small sewing spaces since the sides fold down, leaving a 10" wide middle section. The solid birch wood is so pretty. There are 6 drawers to place tools, etc to have close at hand. Warning: the table weighs 100 pounds. Plan ahead for how to get it from your car to your sewing space. I set up an appointment through Ikea to have the table assembled..worth every penny to me since my DH and I both are terrible with assembly directions.

I have had the table from Joann's for 10 years or longer...got it on sale for $50...I keep only one side up, and the middle part is room for all my rulers, cutters and it has never wobbled or been unsteady...I have my mat that fits the one side...and do all my cutting there...it has served me well..perfect height for me....and I keep two rolling plastic drawers underneath...so I have got my money's worth for sure...love it...[ATTACH=CONFIG]564577[/ATTACH]
