I have the one without the shelves, have had it for years. Love it. I use it for all my paper crafting (and some sewing). I, too, have the cutting mat that fits the top and one year for Christmas got the ironing pad but haven't used that yet.

It looks very much like the table I had from JoAnn's that I purchased for about $70.00 and used for several
years.....when I did my sewing room over 2 years ago....purchased a used kitchen island on Craigs list...it is the
perfect height for cutting...made an ironing board to put on top when needed that makes it easy to iron yardage and has storage drawers and doors that can be used for Sissix dies etc. We hung white pegboard on the wall for
storage of rulers,sissors,rotary cutters etc.....works very well for me

I, too, have an older JoAnn's model, pd $100 and love it. Stable, with no shelves, underneath, but I store batting and a lifetime of "round tuit or dreaming of getting done" quilt kits waiting to be done under neath, so I can't see paying that kind of price just to get that one little bitty shelf. Check out JoAnns - they also will return at a store, if it was purchased on-line. Our Joanns has this table in stock - just saw it.

As for an extension behind your sewing machine - DH (who is not a carpenter) bought me a 4' countertop at Lowes, screwed 4 legs on with casters and it works great. Total cost $60. Might check out Habitat "Restore" I love that place. If its not there today, it will be next week - jusst keep checking back.

Bottom line - Walmart is great, but this time, way overpriced!

If you pay more than 80 bucks for that table, you have paid too much. Check the sales at Joann and Hancock. I got mine from Hancock for 79 dollars. I have not taken it out of the box because I am trying to determine if I want to keep it or not. If is is wiggly, I do not want to keep it. I just want it to cut on. If someone has the table above without the shelving underneath. Tell me how you like it. I have about two weeks before I can take it back.

This is the one I have also and it works just fine. Mine is over 10 years old and is very sturdy. I have used my heavy Bernina machine on it, but I use it mainly for my cutting table as the large mats fit well on top of it. Back when I bought mine it was about 120.00 at that time.

If you are concerned about stability why not have your husband make you a table.I know my husband could look at the picture and duplicate. I found this one but I know there are other models out there.
