I have made up my mind to get a larger machine to quilt with.I dont have room for a longarm or even a sitdown version.S o now I need to decide which machine to get..What I want is a large harp,auto thread cutter and a good feed system.I don;t care about fancy stiches,cause I dont use the ones I have on my brother cs6000i.I;ve been reading about the horizon7700 but I just dont know.I want to get the most for my money(dont we all).There is a local sew and vac but they dont have anything you can test drive,the closest place is an hour and a half away.Thats to far to go for classes and check ups.What to do,what to do?I have info spinning in my head but want some opinions from my friends that quilt and sew,not someone trying to sell their machine.Sorry I;m so long winded.

I have the Janome MC6600P and love it. It has the same size harp as the Horizon just not as computerized. It does have a thread cutter. The Horizon and 6600 have the same accufeed system.

I love my 6600 because it is not a very computerized machine. If I need to move the handwheel to have my needle land exactly where I need it, I can do that without harm to the machine.

I've had my 6600 for about 4 years now and have yet to take it in for service. It runs like a champ!

I have and LOVE my Baby Lock Quest Plus: 9" harp, perfect stitches, straight !!! feed, built-in dual feed, slender free arm. I could go on and on. It does NOT have autocut, but its successor the Serenade does. The Quest Plus, Pfaff Smarter C1100 Pro, Singer L-500, Serenade, Janome 6600, and Elna 7300 are all very similar with a few differences between them. BTW, I also have a new Bernina 820, which I adore, and the Quest Plus compares very favorably at 1/6 the price :)

That machine does sound good. if you are deciding on one machine to give you the most options, the extra 3.5 inches and the Stitch regulator on the Bernina might be your best long term investment! Good Luck!

I have the janome 6600 and my sister recently bought the 7700. I was tempted to trade mine in but hadn't had it for very long (and it was paid for). LOL
The harp on the 7700 is 11", the 6600 is smaller at 9".
