Hello everyone,
Can anyone help me find this pattern or its name (please see single block picture). I was provided the completed five Star blocks and I integrated them in a charity quilt (let me know if you like it). I would however love to sew some of these star blocks. I have no idea what this star pattern is called. Can you help me? Thank you. Quilt Star block |
I believe it is a mariners compass

Will look it up now. Tks for your help. Here I go looking for its pattern....
|
It's some type of kite shaped stack & whack in the center. It reminds me of Jinny Beyer's stuff. Possibly Kaye Woods. I would check out both their sites for the pattern. Also, Cheryl Phillips is promoting some new ruler & method that makes these type blocks without set in seams. Bethany Reynolds is a possibility, also if it's an updated version of her Stack 'n' Whack method.

No cigars yet. It seems it's closet to mariners compass. Thank you for your help.
|
did u ask the person who gave you the pattern.
It can be drafted if you are confident in drafting your own patterns. |
It's very pretty! Hope you can get it figured out!
|
The lady passed away, the stars were passed on to the charity organization. Not too good at drafting. My 75 year old mom will give it a try, she's gifted. Tks.
|
Too bad. I think the center medallion block by itself would be a beautiful quilt on its own if you don't find the pattern. I've never seen this and I'm thinking the quilter might have drafted it herself. Good luck and show us what you come up with.

very pretty, I hope someone on this board can draft out the pattern

Not very many blocks use the kite shape. I found a book by Linda Causee that uses the kite shape to make stars: Learn to be a Wacky-Star Quilting Wizard and I have a book by Judy Martin, "The Block Book" that has some similar stars. She has other books, too, with fantastic stars. "Knockout Blocks & Sampler Quilts", "Scraps", & "Stellar Quilts" I might try & draft it in Quilt Pro later in the week while hubby watches his shows.

In Jinny Beyer's The Quilters Album of Patchwork Patterns it looks like this pattern is St. Louis Block.
|
It's so pretty! I sure hope someone finds it. I haven't seen it before - but will keep my eye's open.
|
Looks like a Dresden Plate (pointed version) in centre with Lemoyne Star-type outers - will keep looking
|
Many thanks for your help.

I just can't thank all of you for your help and interest. I am still looking, again, no cigars. I will keep looking and keep all of you posted. Good night
