Be very careful when storing quilts near any wood. All wood has acid in it to some degree. Many of us have learned the lesson of the cedar chest  . Storing in plastic/vinyls is also a problem. Some plastics and vinyls will break down over time and outgas (some are worse than others and it will surprise people to find which ones!). This damages fabrics. You should consult a professional archivist for precious fabric storage (I know all our quilts are considered precious, but I'm not talking about the ones we use all the time here). I have made muslin storage bags that are custom to the quilt size and I roll the quilts. I'm supposed to take them out and refold them every so often to prevent wear marks because even if you roll them, you rarely are going to be able to do that without a fold somewhere.

The wood needs to be sealed with polyurethane, I think, to prevent natural acids in the wood from discoloring and eventually eating the fabric.
