I've cut out squares for a throw rag quilt I need help I don't know how to sew it together. I'm confused is the bottom also ragged? I'm lost and wanted to give it as a gift for Xmas this yr. I don't have all the batting cut out I'm just so confused. Would appreciate anyone's help please. Thanks so much. Sue

Don't worry about the actual ragging yet. Finish cutting your batting and then put your squares together. Back, batting, and top--sew an x or whatever you are going to use on each of those squares. Then you will be ready to put together in your rows. Does this make sense?? You can pm me anytime if I can help.

The ends are on one side. I put a smaller piece of batt between 2 layers of material and sew an X on top leaving at least an inch on all sides. Then I sew the squares together with the seams all showing on one side. Then I snip to cutting line and wash. Does that help at all. I'm a visual person so directions aren't my thing :(

Missouri star quilts has done a tutorial on making one with minkee. You can follow the same procedure, just add your batting between your two pieces.

Thanks so much for your help. It sounds so simple maybe that's why I can't picture it and am afraid I'll ruin it now. I'll let you know if I need more help. Sue

It is a really fun quilt to make because it is so forgiving. You really can do anything you want.

Gale, Thanks so much for the tute especially the 2nd one helps to see it and have it explained probably because it's a first for me. I'll let you know how I make out. Hope to be done by Xmas. Sue

Cyn, It sure does help and I like you like to see it sometimes makes more sense to me because somehow I picture it when I'm doing it and can do it. Thanks for the help. Sue

Scroll down a bit and you will see a close up of the front and back of my rag quilt - and if you look you will see it is far from perfect - but they are all loved just the same
