I don't think anyone can open a link that is not highlighted in blue. Just copy and paste it into your URL at the top of your internet page.

mommamac 04-05-2011 12:17 PM

To get links to highlight:
See Tags to the left of message response box.

type an open bracket, url then a closed bracket - type in link, then type open bracket, / url then a closed bracket

Way easier to copy and paste!

I think you misunderstood - if original poster 'linked' this way it would be easier for the rest of us to open.

Easier to cut & paste?...

I agree with you. I love it when it is in blue and I can just click on it. But when mistakes happen, I don't get distressed by it. It isn't that hard to copy and paste it.

craftybear 04-05-2011 01:17 PM

yes, it makes it easier to just click on it, when I see them, I usally reply and make the link clickable, as sometimes others not sure how to do it

Thanks

I have never figured out how to use the Tags...the emotioncons yes, tags no. Could use some help. I looked under help (maybe I just didn't see it) if I want to change the color to say blue , what would I actually do. I have tried [color=blue] and nothing happens. Would you please help me out here? LOL Thanks

type an open bracket, then type color=blue, then a closed bracket next type an open bracket, a /, then the word color, and a closed bracket - this should change the color ~ let's see

mommamac 04-05-2011 03:10 PM

to use tags --- type the first set of brackets with whatever is in it, then type word/s you want changed, then type second set of brackets with whatever is in it.

hope this helps

probably should have started another topic but figured Kappy was following this thread to get help...

Thank YOU!! I'm not always sure how/why they aren't highlighted - it's great if they are, but no big deal if they aren't. If they aren't I just cut and paste, which works. But I have seen a couple where you've put a reply in the next comment or two and did take advantage of your generosity.

quiltmaker 04-06-2011 02:32 AM

Congratulations......I still can't seem to get it in color. :-(

I can do my links just fine but can't seem to grasp how to change the color in my thread with just writing like this and I think I followed the directions given...and am still working on those smilies.

mommamac 04-06-2011 05:14 AM

changing color is basically the same as doing the links - the command is in brackets...

so within the 1st bracket type: ['color=' & the word for the color you want] then type the words you want changed, then add the other bracket - which has a /and the word 'color'

Thanks mommamac, but for whatever reason I keep trying and still can't manage to make the darn thing work. Guess I'll give it a rest for now but I do appreciate you trying to help me out here.
