Hi all,
I'd love to make up some wallhangings inspired by the kind of seashells found in Florida. I'm not having much luck googling for this. I welcome applique, pieced and/or paper pieced. Book or booklet titles would be welcomed, too.
Thanks in advance for your help!

What a wonderful idea! I think I would like to do a quilt like that too! Anyone have any ideas that could help us? I live in OH and I love the ocean...it has been a long time since I have been to the beach BUT I have my FL room decor in a "beach" theme. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you are talking about a wall hanging I would do 5 different blocks 3 rectangles (beach ball, sea shells, sand castle) on one side and 2 long rectangles (lighthouse, sail boat) on the other.

There are a lot of fabrics available in this area anyway. I'd check some of the larger mailorder sites - keepsake, fabric.com

I plan on that, in fact, I just told my husband this A>M> that I will be getting a digital camera. He said "why"? They have no clue do they? Gotta love him!

Hi,
Thanks for all of the ideas and links. I did find a set of paper piecing patterns (say that three times fast) at Keepsake that I might have to get. They seemed a little pricey but if they include the foundation papers, that might be why.
We went to Florida recently to visit relatives and drove around looking at possible neighborhoods. I'm still in shock, we found a great deal on a waterfront condo and put an offer on it. Now, I'm going nuts thinking of decorating etc. and just have to make some things for it. Fortunately, when the time comes, in a few years, we will be snowbirds so all of my pine cone flannels won't go to waste.

PS I am going to check out your other ideas as well.
