Polka Dot Quilt help

I want to make a Polka Dot quilt for an 8 year old girl I have never met. If anyone has made one for a child and it was loved please post a picture or tell me what the pattern was called.

Thank you very much, CaroleLee

I have made the one shown here with mostly polka dot and swirly fabrics. The pattern is called Patches and Pinwheels and is free from Bonnie Hunter's web site. This was the second one of this design that I made.

Another poster just posted pictures of her Patches and Pinwheels Scrappy, and you can see that the quilt takes on a different look with the different fabrics.

You could do most any pieced pattern with polka dot fabric. You could also see if you could get a panel of Minnie Mouse in her red and white polka dot dress and add to it?

I do a lot of charity for kids and they usually like anything that is bright.

I did this quick little lap throw for my Nursing home a while ago..it was scraps I had. It is only the top lying on top of another that is already sandwiched..

A polka dot quilt would be so cute -- showcasing the polka dots with a good neutral will be the key.

Riley Blake Designs has a very cute free pattern called Polka Dot Patch that uses easy-to-make bow tie blocks. Here’s a link (scroll down quite a ways): https://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/fr...ting_projects/

How about taking bright solid colours (or any scraps you have), and a thin muslin type fabric. Cut a bunch of different sized circles, sew to muslin and make a small slit in the muslin to turn them around and then applique to whole cloth.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it but I made one using all polka dot fabrics (no solids) for my granddaughter years ago with fabric from WalMart. It was a log cabin and surprisingly is still being used and washed. It is now passed down to her younger sister and the mother says it's still in great shape after lots of sleep overs, lots of pillow fights with the brothers, dogs sleeping on it, you name it.

I made this for my sister last year. It is just various star blocks using all sorts of polka dots.

Here's one I made as a shower gift. The pattern is OUTSIDE THE BOX-All Grown Up. Very easy to make.

I am just finishing up the polka dot bow tie quilt from Riley Blake that Kathy T. showed for my 10 year old niece, I love it and she will love it too! Very easy to make. The center square "knot" is appliqued on, I used Eleanor Burns
method with light weight iron on interfacing. I am not affiliated, check out Craftsy, the kit may still be on sale.

I love working with polka dots - be it quilts, tote bags or girl's dresses. The only constant is that I use some white. Either as the main solid or with some other bright solids. For me, it keeps it light and happy. And polka dots are just plain happy!!

I used extra lg swoon blocks. Sorry no pictures of completed but here's the idea.

My niece asked me to make polka dot quilts for her expected twins. This is what I came up with- not really polka dots, but she was very happy, and Micah and Elise play every day on their quilts made by Auntie.
