DH and I were having a disscussion on what temp polyester batting would melt, so asking my quilting friends to put their thinking caps on, I have read something about this but couldn't remember all the info that I needed to tell hubby :?: so maybe you could help with this. Sure would appreciate it if you could :-) I do know that the information scared me enough that the last quilts that I made the grandchildren, I changed to cotton batting :!:

well I just finished a quilt with a poly batt and I noticed that when I was ironing the binding after attatching one side where the iron was on the quilt was flat and stiff (like it melted) I meant to fell that spot after it came out of the dryer to see if it was still noticeable but forgot and now the quilt has a new home so I may never know.

some cotton batting does the same thing - especially if you spritz it before hitting it with the iron.

teach those babies to stop smokin' in their cribs so you don't have to worry about it. cigars are for outdoors. ;-)
