do you think these colors work or should I start over selecting?I am not sure about them-trying to work from scrap box.

I think those would work. Just watch your values and judging from your other posts you do that well. Do you have a red plastic sleeve? Or do what my SIL does, take pic of the fabric in black and white. :)

I think those fabrics work from the standpoint of contrast -- lights and darks. What I notice, though, is that there are a lot of gray fabrics (and grayed colors) in both piles, which means you will end up with quite a grayed quilt. I would add some brights to the dark pile (especially red), and maybe eliminate a couple of the grays. For the lights, I would eliminate some of the blue-grays and add in some pinks. I would also eliminate the two very defined prints in the light pile (dark blue on blue, and red/blue/yellow flowers) and look for fabrics that read more as solids at a distance.

My experience has been that a lot of grays and grayed colors, especially when combined with dark browns, come together as quite dull. Dark reds would add a lot of interest while still keeping up the contrast.
